I am currently using Thunderbird for my e-mail client. Why should I migrate to Outlook?
Mercer University, in order to provide all the necessary tools for productivity, has chosen Microsoft Outlook, because of its robustness and compatibility to other technologies we use throughout the campus. Most of all our technologies, including servers are Microsoft based. Information Technology services will be able to provide more promptly service if all faculty and staff utilize one common environment for e-mail. Microsoft outlook 2007, provides various connections to your e-mail including Outlook Web Access, mobile messaging, and Outlook client.
It is the University policy to migrate to Office Outlook 2007. Once you are migrated to Office Outlook, no further support for 3rd party e-mail clients will be given on campus.
