Mercer IT maintains a wireless networking system, by which the Mercer faculty and staff can access the Internet and other select network resources in certain campus areas.
Note: The wireless network is provided as a secondary connection option. Use of the University’s wireless network for mission critical functions is not recommended or supported, per our IT Access & Use Policy.

Wireless Access for Mercer Owned Computers
Only Mercer-owned computers are permitted on the MU-Faculty/Staff wireless network. However, netbooks are not permitted; for details see our Netbook Purchase & Support Policy.
To connect to our wireless network, simply select the MU-Faculty/Staff wireless connection from the list of available networks. You will be prompted to enter a password. The password is G0B3@r$! (The password is case-sensitive, so it must be typed exactly as shown). Once connected, open an internet browser. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password (same as for logging into your computer).
Wireless Access for Non-Mercer Owned Computers and Guests
Non-Mercer owned computers are only permitted on the Guest wireless network. However, netbooks are not permitted; for details see our Netbook Purchase & Support Policy.
Guests (which includes guest speakers, group events, summer camps, etc.) may access the MU-Guest wireless network. Simply select the MU-Guest wireless connection from the list of available networks. Once connected, open an internet browser. Guests will be prompted to enter a valid email address.
Wireless Access for Mobile Devices (includes the iPad)
All faculty/staff must register their mobile devices with the IT Help Desk in order to use Mercer's wireless network. To connect your mobile device, complete the Wireless Registration Form. Mobile users will access the merceru wireless connection. The merceru network will be shutdown by the end of Summer semester; we will notify you when the new network is available for your mobile devices.
