Once your website has been developed, you can put your newly created/updated websites on the Internet for public access. Be sure to read the University Web Publishing Policy, as all web authors now have direct access to create and update their websites without any involvement from Web Management.
In this section:
As a web author, you have the ability to place and delete web files from the Mercer servers. Help us keep the content on these sites clean and up to date. There may be content on your site that needs updating or is no longer used—delete or revise these files, as appropriate. You can use DreamWeaver to gain FTP access to Mercer web servers. If you need to purchase a license for DreamWeaver, please contact the Help Desk.
To configure DreamWeaver for FTP access (under Site -> Manage Sites):
- Make sure the Passive FTP box is checked.
- Enter the following FTP configuration information:
- List of hosts and port numbers:
egrweb.mercer.edu:2111 (if your site is a part of EGRWEB)
- host directory: /<your web site name>/
login: MERCERU\<your user name>
password: <your network or Windows password>
Note: FrontPage and SharePoint Designer are no longer compatible with our web server.
All Web Management design and hosting services are offered to faculty and staff free of charge.
