Students are assigned usernames and passwords to access various secure systems at Mercer University. Each of those systems are described below, including how to change the password for each. Mercer IT recommends that individuals change their passwords immediately when assigned and approximately every six months, using “strong” passwords that include alpha-numeric characters, capital and lowercase characters, and symbols (if available).

MyMercer

The MyMercer password allows access to personal information, student records, registration, and financial planning resources. The MyMercer password can be changed and/or reset via Mercer's password self-service website.

Blackboard

The Blackboard password allows access to supplementary course materials and websites (as activated by the professor).

Follow the steps below to change your Blackboard password:

  1. Log in to Blackboard.
  2. Click on your name in the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Personal Information.
  5. Click the Change Password link.
  6. Type a new password in the Password and Verify Password fields.
  7. Click Submit.

MercerLive (student email)

The MercerLive password allows access to your Mercer student email account. The MercerLive password can be changed and/or reset via Mercer's password self-service website.
