Audio Visual (A/V) Assistant

Job Description: Responsibilities include, but are not be limited to, delivery and pickup of A/V equipment on campus. A/V Assistants will also provide instruction on the proper use and set up of audio/visual equipment, the operation of sound systems, and perform simple maintenance as required. A/V Assistants will work directly with students, faculty and staff. Other duties may be included as assigned. REGULAR WAGE OR WORK STUDY MAY APPLY.

Job Qualifications: Must be dependable, have a high attention to detail, and be available to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings and weekends. Candidate will be responsible for setup, operation, and teardown of A/V equipment on the Mercer University Macon campus. In this position you will work in direct contact with faculty, staff and students alike therefore, excellent customer service skills are required. Must also perform other duties as the supervisor may, from time to time, deem necessary. Experience with LCD projectors, overhead projectors, VCRs, DVD players, digital camcorders, audio systems and other multimedia equipment preferred but not required. Will provide training if necessary. Computer experience a plus.

Hours Available: A/V Assistants’ hours vary by location, but in general are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am – 10:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday as needed, and Sunday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Work Location: In Macon, Tarver Library. In Atlanta, Swilley Suite 135.

Help Desk Assistant

Job Description: Provide technical support and assistance via telephone and onsite for: network access setup; network navigation; basic system setup and configuration; software support.

Job Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. In-depth experience in personal computer and network setup, configuration, testing, installation, troubleshooting, and support. Good working knowledge of the installation and use of common PC software. Customer service and support experience preferred.

Help Desk Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Friday 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m.; Sunday, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Work Location: In Macon, Tarver Library and Information Technology Help Desk Office. In Atlanta, Swilley Library Room 135.

Learning Technology Center Assistant

Job Description: Learning Technologies Assistants will assist the Learning Technologies Center team in meeting the demands of a high tech multimedia workplace.  WORK STUDY STUDENTS ONLY PLEASE.

Job Qualifications: Applicants must possess written and oral communication skills along with customer service experience. Must be able to assist students, faculty, and staff with multimedia applications and productions. LTAs must be willing to learn multiple software applications on the Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Experience with the following applications is desired, but not required: Mac OSX, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, iMovie, iPhoto, and other multimedia and graphic design applications. All accepted applicants will be trained on the software as needed.

Job Requirements:    Professional manner; very dependable; good public relations skills; attention to detail; basic computer skills; work independently; trustworthy; well organized and able to communicate effectively with others; highly motivated and enthusiastic about technology. Must be able to assist with the set up and break down of production events, operating production equipment and other duties as assigned.
