Students who choose to retrieve their Mercer email messages via an Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or other iOS devices) must follow the steps below. For easy email and calendar management, we recommend you set up email in the Outlook for iOS mobile app.

Outlook - Recommended Setup Method

  1. From the App Store, download and install the Microsoft Outlook app.

  2. Open the Microsoft Outlook app and select Add Account.
  3. Enter your Mercer University ID number followed by @live.mercer.edu in the Email address field and tap Next. (e.g. 10234567@live.mercer.edu)
  4. Enter your password in the Password field and tap Sign in. The same password used to access your MyMercer and Canvas.

 

Exchange - Alternative Setup Method

For easy email and calendar management, we recommend you set up email in the Outlook for iOS mobile app (instructions shown above)..

  1. From the home screen select the Settings icon.
  2. Select Mail and Accounts.
  3. Select Add Account and Exchange.
  4. Enter your Mercer email address in the Email address field and tap Next. (e.g. Smith_J@mercer.edu). The Description field may contain any information that will help you identify your Mercer email from the list.
    We recommend Mercer or Mercer Email.
  5. When prompted to Sign In or Configure Manually, select Sign In.
  6. Enter your Mercer password in the Password field and tap Sign in. The same password used to access your computer, MyMercer, and Canvas.
  7. When prompted, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge using the method configured for your account.
    • If you are using Text Message authentication, you may enter the code manually or auto-fill from Messages.

    • If you are using the Microsoft Authenticator app, make a note of the 2-digit number and tap the notification when it appears. Enter that 2-digit number and press approve and switch back to the Settings app.
  8. Select your Sync options and tap Save.

 

Remove Mercer Email from your iPhone

  1. From the home screen select the Settings icon.
  2. Select Accounts & Passwords (or Passwords & Accounts). Order depends on device.
  3. Choose the email account you want to delete from the list of accounts.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
